LEGAL
Terms of Service
Effective September 11, 20261. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of cheatscanner.org (the “Service”), operated by Kumt and Waveir (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing the Service or submitting a file for scanning, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service does
The Service performs automated, heuristic analysis of Java archive (.jar) files for selected patterns associated with remote-access trojans and other suspicious behaviour.
Results are informational only. A low score or a result stating that no indicators were found does not prove that a file is safe. A high score does not prove that a file is malicious. You should use reputable antivirus software, source verification, and an isolated environment when handling unknown files.
3. File processing and privacy
The initial analysis runs in your browser. When you run a scan, the JAR file, its filename, the detected findings, and the safety score are sent to our server and saved to a private Discord channel, where our team can review and download them. We keep these to review results, improve detection, and investigate reported files.
Only scan files you own or are authorized to share. Retention and deletion are described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Your responsibilities
You may only scan files that you own or are authorized to inspect. You must not use the Service to violate applicable law, infringe another person’s rights, disrupt the Service, probe its infrastructure, or distribute malware.
You are responsible for how you handle, execute, share, or rely upon any scanned file and for maintaining appropriate backups and security controls.
5. No security guarantee
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability.
The Service is not a substitute for professional malware analysis. We do not guarantee detection of any threat, including new, obfuscated, encrypted, or modified malware.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kumt and Waveir will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, device access, or business opportunity arising from use of—or reliance on—the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
7. Service availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We may also change detection rules as threats and technology evolve. We are not obligated to maintain a particular feature or provide continuous availability.
8. Intellectual property
The Service’s design, branding, software, and original content are owned by or licensed to us. These terms do not transfer ownership. You retain any rights you hold in files you choose to scan.
9. Third-party services
The Service uses Discord to receive and store consented file uploads and scan reports, and may also link to a Discord community. Discord processes this content under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not control Discord’s infrastructure, security, or availability.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these terms waives any consumer protection or other right that applicable law does not permit you to waive.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the Service or legal requirements change. The revised version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be directed to Kumt and Waveir through the official cheatscanner.org Discord community.
